To all those who enter this site: I am just a collector albeit a serious one, and not a dealer. Whilst I may sell or exchange duplicate labels that I own through this web site via my eCommerce store or on Ebay, I personally leave the wheeling and dealing to those dealers who have the time, money and greater knowledge of it than I.
Although this is not my first published web site, it is the most comprehensive that I have made since working with computers and the internet. It takes a lot of time, effort, sweat and tears to get a large site such as this up and running - notwithstanding the personal financial cost! Nearly everything on this site has either a “Copyright” ©, “Registered Trade Mark” ® or is legally owned by an individual or company.
In my younger days I photographed at a number of European Fashion Shows and got very angry with anyone who attempted to copy or reproduce my work without my permission. In those days copyright was policed a lot less than it is now and there were only a few regulations to protect it.
In protecting those who have some form of ownership in one way or another, including myself to any visual and/or written material on this web site I have produced some "Visitor Guidelines. You are asked to read them prior to exploring the site proper. However, please be aware, by accessing any part of this site, you implicitly agree to comply with the policy documents displayed in various areas of the web site whether you have actually read them or not.
I like to consider myself to be an honest and responsible person but I would be failing if I did not mention that regretfully not everyone is the same. By uploading this web site, I have to comply with my Internet Service Provider's Acceptable User Policy. Whilst it can be irritating, I would ask that you read the relevant excerpts on this and the next page which are applicable to this site.

The above labels are circa 1910 and made by Diamond Match Co. They are approximately 60% of original size.

From my own perspective, these opening guidelines have been written for the benefit of all visitors to this site whether they be collectors , dealers or just interested persons and to quote from a warning that the late David van der Plank wrote in his "Index of British Trade Marks
”It is indeed a shame that the diligent work of many serious collectors is copied and published under the names of self-styled experts. Thus, as is the case of those who fake and forge - and or otherwise sell for gain copies of labels, purporting them to be genuine........et al." "The pleasant, friendly and interesting hobby is growing rapidly and the writers, along with all other real collectors desire the same happy atmosphere to continue"
As a serious and genuine collector I fully agree with David's sentiments and it is for this reason that I am dedicating so much of my time to bring our fascinating hobby well into the 21st century.
To build this web site I am using hardware and software which is at the leading edge of computer technology albeit in six months what was leading edge quickly becomes obsolete. However, saying all that, by using this equipment, I have been able to ensure that the resolution and colour of the scanned labels displayed throughout this web site are of a high standard and that the colours are as close as possible to the originals. In addition, where possible, I have endeavoured to retain the original dimensions where it is practicable. However, it should be noted that the labels used on some of the text pages are of a reduced size and therefore, accordingly, the quality has been reduced as well.
Being that the image resolution and reproduction levels are good also means that the printed image can also be of a high standard but lend itself to a greater chance of illegal copying. There are many ways to prevent copying, but I am loathe to implement them. Not just because it would be a shame, but because it is time consuming to clip corners from labels to prevent them being copied. However, should it become apparent that rarer labels are suddenly appearing on the market, and that they could be forgeries, I would look seriously into inserting watermarks or cropping the images on this web site.
