When Navigational Menu Bar Tabs - those bars displayed permanently on the left side of the web sites browser {in future referred to as NMBT’s} - become as extensive as those in the left margin, it can be a daunting task to find the NMBT that relates to the area you are looking for.
Consequently, I have created this Tree Explorer with the intention of making it easier for you to identify exactly what menu tab needs to be selected to find the Administrational or Subject Area Title that you want. The method is called a Tree Explorer as each Administrational or Subject Area Title is considered to be the same as branches on a tree.
On every NMBT is a number within squared brackets. This identifies the number of Administrational or Subject Area Titles - but not the number of pages which can be greater - that are accessible from that NMBT.
Where the number displayed is only [1], it indicates that the visible NMBT is the only one available and should be clicked if you want to load the contents of that tab into your browser window.
Where the number displayed is greater than [1], it indicates that there are ‘Fly Out Menu Bar Tabs’ {in future referred to as FOMBT} associated with that particular tab. The FOMBT are always 1 less than the number shown as the first is always the Main Menu Bar Tab displayed in the NMBT. Invariably, the Main Menu Bar Tab is the Administrational or Subject Area Titles Main Instruction Page such as this one and should always be read in the first instance before selecting any other tabs from the FOMBT
Sounds slightly complicated but in reality is very simple.
For example, this page you are viewing is visible because you selected the Site Contents Tab from the Navigation Menu Bar on the left side of the web site. However, the tab displays a [2] within squared brackets. In this situation therefore, this first page is as the title states the ‘Main Instruction Page’ whereas Tab 2 is accessed via the FOMBT. Tab 2 in this case is the Tree Explorer itself - simply really!
No matter how extensive the Administrational or Subject Area Titles are, the same principal applies to all of them. It is important to remember that in a lot of cases, the detailed instructions relating to the area you are viewing is contained in the very 1st page of the NMBT.
The Site Contents Tree Explorer is accessible by clicking on the Site Explorer FOMBT.
Happy Hunting!!
