This web site is for collectors of matchbox labels and associated material. It has no connection with matchbox model cars or any die cast models.
The site has been designed to accommodate the latest browsers and computer systems.   However, it is fully compatible to many earlier
versions.  Ideally, a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 or greater should be used but resolutions down to 1024 x 768 can be
accommodated but, usually with a lesser degree of sharpness and a likelihood of both vertical & horizontal scrolling.

Sample Magazines

The Match Label News is produced 6 times a year. The front page of each issue will be loaded to this Flash Gallery as time permits.  The latest Magazine uploaded {not necessarily the latest magazine issued}  will always be the first image on the first page.

The following magazines are currently represented here

Number 351 October 2005

Number 345 October 2004

Number 338 August 2003

Number 334 December 2002

Number 333 October 2002

Number 327 October 2001

Number 326 August 2001 (numbered 325)

The Match Label News was first published in 1945 and with only a couple of hiccups has been published continually since that date.  It celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2005.

Whilst the content is submitted by numerous  members of the Society, it is with amazing and outstanding skill by the editor that it is transferred from a rough or well prepared draft to the finished article that drops through our letterboxes with alarming regularity every two months.

Over the years, there have been many Editors, all working voluntarily and extremely hard to bring us the Societies Official Magazine.  Sadly, some are no longer with us - except in our thoughts, but all without exception are to be congratulated on producing this excellent publication.

Year by year the magazine continues to go from strength to strength and, as can be seen from the gallery, now boasts numerous colour pages.

How to use the Flash Gallery above!

By default, the number of vertical thumbnail images displayed on a page in this gallery is set to 15.  Where there is more than 15 images in an album, the software automatically creates additional pages.  Access to the various images and pages is fairly straightforward and simple but there is a couple of small quirks.  Therefore, I have listed the various scenarios in the instructions below:

1.  Clicking on any of the vertical icons on the left will load that image into the main gallery.
2.  Clicking on the inside double arrows left and right will advance the screen one image left or right through the whole album.
3.  Clicking on the single arrow left or right will take you to the start or end of each page that is available in the album.
4.  Clicking on the vertical triangle [bottom centre] will start the slide show whilst clicking it again will stop it.
5.  Moving your mouse over the star [bottom centre] will highlight and identify the name of the album you are viewing.
6.  Moving your mouse over the name of the album will display the number of pages in the album.
7.  Moving your mouse over the page number and left clicking will load that album page and the thumbnails into the main gallery.

Please note that when on the default opening page of the album, the left single arrow and vertical line is not displayed.  This also applies equally to the right single arrow and vertical bar when on the last page of the album.
