Please note that I actively encourage all clubs and societies to have a presence on this site, and in particular look forward to welcoming and adding clubs or societies from overseas.
Procedure for getting your club to be represented on this and my other web sites
So that the hobby can continue to flourish and survive, it is important that visitors can see active clubs from not only the United Kingdom but from all other countries as well. I know that there are many clubs and organisations around the world, but so few attempt to promote themselves. It is understandable and accepted that languages tend to be a barrier, but having travelled to many countries during my life, I have found that where people have a common interest or bond, language differences are a nuisance but not a barrier!!
Before I can display the details of your Club or Society on my web site, I have to ensure that the information is current and accurate.
Please contact me by sending an e-mail to The Societies & Clubs Coordinator and include the following information where possible. It is important that the information supplied is as full and accurate as possible. Please note where physical copies of material are required, a land address for you to send them to will be supplied via the confirmation e-mail.
1. The following information is requested:
- The details required for membership of the club or society including cost in local currency and whether alternative currencies are acceptable?. If alternative currencies can be used, please supply in addition, the cost in those currencies?
- The period that the membership covers and whether membership starts from the date of acceptance to the club/society or whether the membership is for a fixed period of time (such as 1st January to 31st December)?
- Please confirm that if membership is a fixed date membership, whether the fees are a fixed amount for the period irrespective of the date of joining or whether the fees are on a sliding scale dependent on what date the applicant joined?
- A copy of the clubs/societies rules (e-mailed as an attachment or sent to the address given in the reply e-mail). Please note that these rules should if possible be translated into English.?
- A copy of the club/society logo if you have one and authority for the logo to be displayed on the web site pages including the outside links page.?
- The web site address for the club if there is one?
- A contact address both electronic and land mail if possible.?
- Whether the club produces a magazine, and if so the frequency and it's name. If the club/society produces a magazine, then a copy of a recent issue should be sent to the address given in the confirmation e-mail?
- Forthcoming attractions or meetings covering as full a period as possible with contact details of the organisers of the meetings or events?
- A potted history of the club/society, including the current President (if applicable), Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary?
- The name and details of the person who should be contacted when requiring any information about the club or it's events?
- Any other information that you consider would benefit the club or those collectors interested in joining!
2. On receipt of the above details, a page will be prepared and uploaded as soon as is practicable for the Club or Society.
