Web Design

This web site is for collectors of matchbox labels and associated material. It has no connection with matchbox model cars or any die cast models.
The site has been designed to accommodate the latest browsers and computer systems.   However, it is fully compatible to many earlier
versions.  Ideally, a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 or greater should be used but resolutions down to 1024 x 768 can be
accommodated but, usually with a lesser degree of sharpness and a likelihood of both vertical & horizontal scrolling.

General Information:

By design, matchbox label web sites tend to be text and graphic intensive and this site is definitely no different.

However, new visitors are asked to be patient and read fully everything under the My Magical World & Site Guidelines Navigation Bars before proceeding into the site proper.  It is better to spend a short time understanding the layout rather than charging into it like a 'bull in a china shop'.   After all, once you are familiar with how the site is designed and laid out, you will be able to select where you want to go from any of the navigation bars on the left.

As already described, this web site along with a number of others are all hosted on the same web server and as such no matter which site you access, you will remain with the same server. This can be important for visitors to the site as the access and download speeds remain relatively constant plus it also gives the visitor better security. However, as with all internet traffic, access speeds are governed by a variety of variables for which any one can impact on the quality of your connection. All my web sites are hosted by companies who use state of the art equipment and facilities and therefore, any time delays should only be as a result of internet traffic and the speed of your own internet connection.

The amount of information I am currently preparing is huge and as such would soon make a single web site top heavy and hard going both for the web master and visitors alike. Consequently, as I have been able to acquire a number of "Domain Names" (web site addresses) which are all related to matchbox collecting, I have decided to split what would be a very large web site into a number of smaller ones.

The advantages to this are that each site is easier to manage and that specific subject matter can be made available on specific web sites. It also allows visitors to go directly to the subjects that they are interested in without having to go from page to page to find what they are looking for.

Every part of each site has been made with simplicity in mind. From the outset I have been clear in my vision that I want visitors from all corners of the globe to view my web sites and as such it has made me very aware that the visitors will probably be of many nationalities. Therefore, where possible I have attempted to keep away from using flowery phrases and expressions and stuck to the basic English language.

Screen Resolutions:

As pointed out at the top of every page, I recommend that all of my web sites should be viewed with a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024.  However, if that is not achievable, you should try and adjust your resolution to 1152 x 864, 1280 x 768 or even 1280 x 960.  You should not attempt to view this site with a screen resolution less than 1024 x 768 as you will experience scrolling both in the vertical and horizontal formats.

I have viewed my web pages using multiple browsers and differing screen sizes as outlined above without any adverse effects.
